People still search Google. They also ask ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google’s AI Overviews for a name: a ticketing platform, a coatings supplier, a courier. GEO — generative engine optimization — is the work that makes your business a reasonable answer to that question. It does not replace SEO. It uses the same facts, written so a person and a model can both use them.
Search still has to work
If the site is slow, thin, or unclear about what you sell, an AI has nothing solid to quote. The first job is still a page that states the offer, the place you work, and the proof. Titles, headings, and internal links are not old tactics. They are how both Google and an answer engine decide what the page is about.
What an answer actually uses
A model does not “rank” you the way a blue link does. It looks for a clear entity: who you are, what you do, where you do it, and whether other pages agree. That usually means:
- A homepage and service pages that say the job in plain language, not a list of technologies.
- Consistent naming — the same company name, city, and services on the site, in profiles, and in any directory you actually use.
- Specific proof. A real project, a real process, a real constraint. Vague claims (“best agency”, “20 years”) are easy to ignore and hard to cite.
- Pages that answer the question a buyer would type, including the local one: what it costs to start, how long a build takes, whether you work outside Accra.
What we do on a project
On an SEO and GEO engagement we start with the pages that should earn the enquiry. We fix the technical issues that hide those pages, write the offers so they can be quoted without being rewritten, and then watch two things: whether Google sends the right visits, and whether the brand shows up when we ask the common questions in an AI chat. We do not invent a score for that second part. If we cannot show you the answer, we do not claim a win.
What we will not promise
No one can buy a permanent place inside ChatGPT. Models change, and they disagree with each other. We will not sell a package that “guarantees citations” or a percentage lift we have not measured on your site. The useful promise is narrower: your site says the true thing, clearly enough that a person and an AI can repeat it.
If that is the job, start with what you want to be found for. We reply within 24 hours.
